　　May I have a menu, please?

　　我可以看菜单吗?

　　Could you tell me how this thing is cooked?

　　能否告诉我这道菜是怎么做的?

　　Lobster? It is steamed and served with our special sauce.

　　龙虾?蒸过后加上本店特制的调味料。

　　Is it good?

　　好吃吗?

　　Sure. It is a most popular dish.

　　当然，很受欢迎的。

　　I think I will try some lobster, and give me some green salad together.

　　我想我来点儿吧。再给我一份蔬菜沙拉。

　　We have three dressings for salad. Which one would you like?

　　我们有三种沙拉调味汁，您要哪种?

　　What kind do you have?

　　你们有什么?

　　We have Italian, French and Thousand Island.

　　有意大利，法国和千岛的。

　　Make it French please.

　　给我法式的吧。

　　如果对当地的菜肴不熟悉，通常先询问：

　　What is the specialty of the restaurant?

　　这家店的招牌餐是什么?

　　Do you have any special meals today?

　　今天有什么特餐吗?

　　What would you recommend?I prefer something light.

　　我想来点清淡些的，你能推荐什么吗?

　　可以让同来的人替你点菜，或者要重复的：

　　I will leave it to you.

　　我让你来点。

　　I will have the same as that one.

　　我要一份和那个一样的。

　　如果不急于点菜时，可以这么说：

　　Can I take your order now?

　　你现在叫点什么吗?

　　Not quite. Could I have a few more minutes?

　　不，我可以再多等会吗?

　　Have you got a table for two， please?

　　请问您有两个人的桌子吗??

　　您预定餐桌了吗?

　　订餐”在英文中有两种说法，即 to book a table 和 make a reservation。在英国以及其它很多国家，餐厅一般划分为吸烟区和非吸烟区。一进餐厅，服务员会主动征询客人的意见，然后引领客人前往所选择的区域就餐。

　　打搅一下，我能看看菜单吗?

　　Are you ready to order?

　　您现在可以点餐吗?

　　在西餐厅就餐，菜单一般由三类不同的菜别组成。the first course 或者 starters 是指道菜，往往是汤、一小碟色拉或其它小吃。第二道菜是主菜，最后一道是甜食——或冷或热，但都是甜的。西方饮食习惯是先吃咸的，后吃甜的。西餐菜单名目繁多，有时不易读懂。遇到这种情况，可以请服务员解释一下。

　　Do I have to be formally dressed?

　　我必须穿正式服装吗?

　　B：Good evening. How many people do you have in your party?

　　晚上好。你们有几位?

　　A：Two.

　　We're a party of three.

　　我们三个人。

　　We've reserved a table.

　　我们已经订了桌位。

　　Can we have a table?

　　Are you serving lunch now?

　　B：This way，please. This is your table.

　　请这边走，这是你的桌位。

　　A：Well，can I have that table by the window?We want to enjoy the night view of New York.

　　嗯，我们可以坐靠窗的位子吗?我们想享受一下纽约的夜景。

　　B：How about this table, sir?

　　这个桌位如何?先生。

　　A：This is just fine, thank you.

　　好的，谢谢。

　　May I sit down there by the window?

　　我能坐那里靠窗的位子吗?

　　We'd like seats near the window.

　　我们想坐靠窗的位子。

　　We'd like to have to table near the street.

　　我们想要一个靠街的桌位。

　　B：This is your menu. Your waitress will be here soon. Enjoy your dinner.

　　A：Thank you.

　　谢谢你。

　　B：May I take your order?

　　A：I'd like to see the menu, please.

　　B：I'm sorry. I thought you had one. Here you are.
